Auto dealerships are held to high monthly sales quotas, which is why the industry is so fast-paced and why dealerships are always pushing for bigger, better sales.
For many dealerships, it’s still a world of bright colors and stimulating visuals to attract customers. However, graphic and digital designers have to carefully abide by the manufacturer’s brand guidelines. Auto manufacturer guidelines specify how the logo can be used, the kind of language and imagery that is used, and more. The ad designed for a Ford event is completely different than what would be appropriate for an ad for a Mercedes-Benz event.
Working for a digital marketing company that specialized in automotive, I designed many graphics and digital assets for car dealerships and auto groups.
Good editorial design helps communicate.
Editorial design exists to highlight content - the images and the text. It helps tell the story in a compelling way, exciting the reader, helping inform, and never becoming too loud of distracting on its own that it would take away from the content itself.
As an editorial and graphic designer for a high-end Chinese-American magazine, I had to learn how to create layouts with copious amounts of text. I abided by strict rules on how the languages could be displayed next to each other. I learned the nuances of typography, as well as the importance of consistency and detail-oriented work. I adapted each design based on the brand, mood and purpose of the article. The topics focused on promoting luxury Chinese-American lifestyles, ranging from high-end travel resorts, highlighted products, events, designers, and much more.
Digital billboards and signage help inform and engage.
The purpose of digital signage on a casino floor is to advertise the many restaurants, shops, and amenities throughout the property. Similar to a billboard, it must entice, engage, and inform within a matter of seconds. Powerful visuals and crucial details are essential.

Trade show and event signage create awareness and draw customers to your booth.
Trade show signage is the signage around the company’s booth at a trade show or convention, as well as any promotional banners and advertisements elsewhere at the event. They are often centered around the trade show’s main attraction or theme for the convention.
This trade show signage illustrates how our advertising campaign for the year, Ride With The Winner, was adapted throughout our booth at G2E (the Global Gaming Expo) in Las Vegas.

JCM Global was a great brand which sold money/bill validators, primarily for gaming machines, parking, and vending machines. Clean designs with white backgrounds and accents of white and blue focused on customer-focused, world-wide coverage of services.
